The Canadian Broadcast Corporation is reporting that a Harley-Davidson’s Japan Representative saw the story about one of their motorcycle getting swept out to sea and being found across the Pacific on the shores of British Columbia, Canada, and has tracked down the owner of the bike. The owner, Ikuo Yokoyama, is a 29-year-old resident of the town of Yamamoto. His bike drifted an amazing 5000 kilometers or 3100 miles across the ocean without sinking. The owner Ikuo had tragically lost three family members and his home to the March 2011 tsunami. He had owned his Harley for five years and enjoyed touring Japan on it.
Harley-Davidson says they wish to pay for the return of the bike to the owner and restore it for him. Kudos to them for going above and beyond for a customer.
